April Snows

Today we had 60 degree weather and it was beautiful but last Sunday we received 13″ on new snow with 50 mph winds. In the middle of this storm, we were visited by a couple chickadees. Why would something so small want to be out in that weather?

I’m back

It has been awhile since my last blog. Have no fear, I am still around. No winter in the northland is complete for a dog lover without  checking in with the Beargrease. Such beautiful dogs. And their love for pulling never ceases to amaze me. Enjoy!

Autumn in Winter

Even though winter is trying to take over this area, it is nice to look back at that short season called autumn. If only we could hang on to fall longer. It has always been my favorite time. These pictures were obviously taken awhile ago, but they help warm me up. I hope you enjoy them as well. And Happy Thanksgiving to anyone who views this.

A Fall Trip Up The Shore

Is there a better place to take photos than at Split Rock? There is just something about that lighthouse on the rock cliff. My son and I hit the lighthouse before the sun. After the sun rose, we moved up the shore to the Baptism river. It has been many years since I visited the falls on the Baptism. Wow, talk about memories! Since the river up past the falls is now part of Tettegouche State Park, things are a little different but still quite the sight. We had a enjoyable fall day for our little adventure. So even though Duluth and the north shore are now covered in snow, I think these photos give you an idea what fall can be like here.

Autumn on the North Shore

Just got to love autumn on the North Shore. Between the colors and the big lake starting to roll. Never fails to amaze me that we drive through this all the time and never really pay attention. So you know, these photos are from a couple years ago. I took some pics last weekend I am working on but found these and had sort of forgot about them. So I thought I would share them. Enjoy!

Minneopa Falls

Its funny, no trip to Good Thunder seems complete anymore without a trip to Minneopa Falls. I used to drive by this every day and never stopped to look. Until a couple of years ago, I had not seen this since elementary school. Was not too big of a deal to me back then. Just goes to show that your perspective of things change over timeand you can usually find beauty just about anywhere (if you look for it). If you have never been there, and are in the Mankato area, it is worth a stop.
