Cleaning

Maybe I should call it spring cleaning. My laptop had too many pictures stored on it so it was time to get rid of ones I had no use for. Funny thing was while I was deleting photos, I found some I had forgotten about. So even though these are older pictures, I wanted to post them for all to see.

Jack Frost Goes Crazy

These pictures were taken on February 3rd. I thought I had posted some of them before but just realized I had not. We had freezing drizzle and heavy frost overnight. I drove into Kenwood in the morning and realized how awesome it was. So I went home and grabbed my camera and headed out looking for images that showed how cool it was. I don’t know that I ever really looked close at Hoar Frost before. All the frost was in the form of spikes pointing in the direction the wind was blowing, It is kind of hard to get pictures on a hazy winter day. Most of the pictures come out looking almost like black and white photos. Hopefully you can get a sense of how awesome that morning looked.

Full Moon on Superior

Last week I wanted to take pictures of the full moon coming up over the ice fisherman on Lake Superior. Unfortunately, all the fisherman packed up an were heading off the lake when the moon came up. But as I have learned, just because your planned photo shoot does not work out, there is always a picture there if you look for it. Beside the rising full moon, I played with some creative lighting technics and got some pictures I thought were kind of fun. I hope you enjoy a couple from this shoot.

Bentleyville

As promised, here is a quick trip through Bentleyville 2018. It is just a small collection of the lights. If you have been there, you will recognize them. If you have not seen it in person, I hope you enjoy this sample of the light display. The one with red and green lights was taken from inside the tree. That may be new to most of you. It is a pretty cool place and has become a very big part of my holiday season. If you would like to see it live, you will have to wait under November of 2019.

Bentleyville

As I have been busy working at Bentleyville and Christmas prep, I finally got some time to take some photos of Bentleyville. I am posting my far away pictures tonight and my in the park photos in a few days. I walked up to the pavillion at Enger Tower to take these. While I was up there, I ran into a couple from Bemidji that were checking out the lights. Had a really nice conversation with them and even sold them a couple of photos. It made for a really good night. Please enjoy these photos and stay tuned for the “In the Park” photos.

Glensheen Sunrise

Glensheen had a sunrise photography event a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I was also committed to Bentleyville setup as well. I did get to go for about an hour and a half though. What a cool place that time of day. I guess anytime for that matter. I am excited to get a chance to do it again. I have a better idea of what I would do different next time. I did get a few that I feel are worthy of posting here. I hope you enjoy them.

Superior Sunrise

In case anyone out there has been waiting for my next post, here is a start. I have been bogged down and overloaded with pictures. Instead of posting any, I have not posted any. I am going to try to catch up starting with this post.

There is nothing like a Superior sunrise!

Canal Park in April

Have no fear, the ice is gone. These pictures were taken 2 weeks ago. It was such a still morning, creating beautiful reflections. I have many more pictures from this morning shoot, but I wanted to get a couple posted. Enjoy!
